Turn off the snow machine. I have a 12-13' pile in my yard where the plow has pushed excess snow from our cul de sac. I also have 7-8' piles at the end of my driveway from where I've removed snow from my driveway. The big problem with that is that my snow blower won't throw snow that high so I more or less HAVE to shovel.

Had to wade in to the 6' deep snow in our yard to shovel snow away from the house. It is so deep I found out it was melting (the stuff right against the house) and water was leaking in. So i had to go shovel the yard.

Temps are expected to be -20 to -30 wind chills for the next 3 days. UNCLE

I like cold and snow, but not "high of 4" cold.

You non-US Americans would think that 4 is chilly, but I'm talking Fahrenheit. Screw that. 4 is unreasonable.

I'll pay the postage for you to send your snow machine to California. I don't think there'll be much water for us this year, let alone skiing.

You can send that snow up to Maine.

I've lived in Michigan all my life. West Michigan less than 10 minutes from Lake Michigan. I've NEVER seen this much snow.

Last year Grand Rapids got 18" of snow. This year already 68" of snow.

I'd love to have that snow here in eastern Norway..

No, I'm not making fun of you. But I DO understand that it's not fun when water starts leaking in :/

We had 1 day of snow here in Seattle. It's been in the upper 40s and low 50s the last few days WITH SUNSHINE. Saturday was gorgeous out for the Mariner's Fan Fest I took my kid to. Something about running the bases at SAFECO Field in January with the roof open and the sun shining feels weird.

It's worth getting a snow rake to pull much of it off your roof so you don't get ridiculous ice dams (or overweight). That stuff is not fun. I usually don't bother, but two years ago we had snow like that that just wouldn't quit. I ended up building the pile next to my garage high enough that I took my 7 year old daughter, we walked up onto the roof and jumped off the other side into the other giant snow piles. It was a lot of fun! I told her it was probably the only time in her life I'd let her jump off a roof!

Oddly enough it seems like our roof is OK due to how high the winds have been.

4 Fahrenheit is t-shirt weather mate :) (ok, not quite, I might put on a denim jacket as well) if it's not that windy. Now -20 to -30 F (-29 to -35 C) though.. we're talking somewhat proper cold then.

Same here. It was gusting to 30 or more overnight last night, and tonight is supposed to be more of the same.

I'd take that like a shot right now. I know there can be such a thing as too much snow, but it's still not worse than what we've been having in London for weeks: weather's only just above freezing, and continually raining. I don't think I've seen the sun yet this year. Grim.

I really need to get things sorted out so I can spend every winter in the Caribbean and/or skiing, because I've had enough of this shit.

You guys on the west side of the state always get hit harder than us over by detroit. I'm even running out of room to put the damn snow though.
